Transport System

By Air:- Chandigarh International Airport is located at 12 km away from the city bus stand Chandigarh, Mohali, Punjab. New terminal of this airport builing for both domestic and International flights was inaugurated on 11 September 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This airport serves flights several major cities of Indian states such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Srinagar, Kullu-Manali etc. This airport is 100 km away from Shimla, 110 km away from Ludhiana, 265 km away from New Delhi by road.

By Railway:- Chandigarh Railway Station is located at  Industrial Area-1, Dariya, Chandigarh. It is 8 km away from city centre and 7 km away from Chandigarh airport. There are several trains run from this station to the major cities of Indian states. This station lies in the northern railway zone of the Indian network.

By Road:- The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) operates frequent bus services to this city as well as the neighbouring states of such as  Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi etc. This city is well conected by road by NH-22 (Ambala-Kalka-Shimla-Khab) and NH-21 Chandigarh-Manali.

Chhatbir Zoo:- Chhatbir Zoo is known as Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park. It is located at Zirakpur, 17 km away from Chandigarh and 55 km away from Patiala. Royal Bengal Tiger is the main attraction of this zoo. In this zoo it is a beautiful picture exhibiting ecological harmony which increases the chark of amazing surroundings. It is one of popular tourist places in Chandigarh.

ISKCON Sri Radha Madhav Temple:- This temple is located at Sector 36 B in Dakshin Marg, Chandigarh. It is one of the popular tourist places in Chandigarh city. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radhrani. The popular tradition of this temple is six aartis are offered daily by twenty four brahmanically trained priests to the temple deities and along with corresponding bhoga offerings. It is a very glorious temple.

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden:- It is a botanical garden. It is situated at Phase-III B, Near District Court, Chandigarh. There are 50,000 rose bushes of 1600 different species. This garden was named after the 3rd former President of India Dr. Zakir Hussain. It is created in 1967 under the guidance of Dr M. S. Radhawa who was the first commissioner of Chandigarh. It is the Asia's largest garden. This garden has not only roses but also medicinal 's trees value.
